Paris, France Day 1

The fifth stop on my dream trip around the world was Paris, France. After my stay in London, England I took a direct flight to Paris for 1 hr and 15 min. My plane ticket cost me about $119. I stayed in a 4 star hotel called Le Citizen Hotel. Per night I paid $265. This hotel was very home like and fashionably designed/ set up. The hotel offered a train station pick, which I thought was great even though I did not take a train to get to Paris. Some of the hotel amenities included, free snacks and drinks, complimentary breakfast, and rainfall showerheads. The breakfast was delicious, especially the freshly made croissants. The hotel also had a nice view of Canal St Martin.

On my first day here I went to one of the largest and famous museums, the Louvre Museum. The Louvre Pyramid, which is the pyramid in the front of the museum was huge and very beautiful. It is made of glass so it looked very fragile and delicate, but it was very pretty! The art work inside the Louvre was all very nice. I was most excited to see the original Mona Lisa. The painting was constantly surrounded my visitors so it was difficult to get a good look at the artwork. But eventually I did get to see the painting up close.

During the evening of my first day in Paris I took a boat ride through the Canal St Martin, which was right outside the hotel I was staying in. The ride was quite relaxing and peaceful. I was also able to see and capture some really nice scenery. After the boat ride I took a stroll through the walkway. There were many small boutiques, cafes, bars, and restaurants around. For dinner I went to a fancy restaurant called Le Chateaubriand. Since I was in France, I had to try some snail, also known as escargot. It sounds disgusting and it tastes disgusting. I did not enjoy it one bit, but I am glad I tried it!

London, England Day 2

On my second day in London, England I took hop on and off sightseeing tour all over the city. This gave me the opportunity not only to ride the famous and iconic red double decker bus but also to get a closer look at Big Ben, the Tower of London, the Tower Bridge, and other popular tourist attractions. Big Ben is the clock tower/ Great Bell on the parliament. I was able to enter the clock tower and take a free tour of it. It was really cool and interesting! I climbed over 300 steps to get to the top of the tower and hear the bell ring. From the top of the tower, I had a really great view of London.

Another attraction I saw was the Tower of London. It is massive outside and inside! The Tower had a medieval and old feel to it. After touring the Tower, the group and I walked to the Tower Bridge. This was the bridge with the Olympic rings that was featured in the 2012 Olympics. The bridge had walkways where we were able to walk through and see London from up high. From the bridge, I was able to see boats and ships in the water.

The last place I went to during the hop on and off sightseeing tour was Covent Garden. This is a shopping area and it is also a popular tourist destination. Covent Garden is surrounded by shops, street performers, restaurants, and theatres. The stores had really interesting clothes, jewelry, etc. As for the street performers, they were all very talented! There were singers, dancers, comedians, and magicians. It was like I was in a theatre. In Covent Garden I also had some traditional English food. I ate fish and chips, and of course some tea and biscuits. My stay in London, England was magnificent! The locals were very friendly and even taught me some slang. I will definitely be coming back.

London, England Day 1

After my trip in the Northern Hemisphere, I flew to Western Europe. I visited three different countries here and the first was England, more specifically, London, England. I took a direct flight from Bridgetown, Barbados to London which took 8hrs and 5 min. The total cost of my flight was $1280. I stayed in a 4 star hotel called Hoxton Hotel and it cost me $185 per night. The hotel looked very modern and had very neutral colours. It also had a cozy and home-like feel. It was a very appealing hotel! Besides it's great décor and style, the hotel had some really good amenities. The hotel had free wifi, free breakfast, a table tennis room, and shops located in the hotel. Also, the hotel offered free 1 hr phone calls to anywhere in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe for free. I really liked how the hotel was located in the city since it was close to many attractions as well.

The first thing I did in London was go on the London Eye. This has been on my bucket list for a very long time so I was beyond excited to finally go on it and see the view from the very top. The giant ferris wheel had large capsules that could fit up to 25 people. I was not aware of how large they were until actually stepping foot into one! The view from the top was even better than I expected. I could see all the tourist attractions like Big Ben and the London Bridge. I really enjoyed how all the walls of the capsule were windows. It made it a lot easier to see the great views.

After my ride on the London Eye, I went to the famous Madame Tussauds London Wax Museum. I have been to a couple around the world but I was still very excited to visit this one. This Madame Tussaud had wax sculptures that I have not seen yet and that were only in the museum in London. I was most excited to see the new One Direction wax figures! There was a massive line up just to see the figures but it was so worth it. The sculptures were so realistic, it was like they were right in front of me! All the wax figures in the museum looked so real, it was crazy! Besides seeing the One Direction sculptures I also saw Justin Bieber, Beyoncé, Queen Elizabeth, etc.

Bridgetown, Barbados Day 2 & 3

The first thing I did on my second day in Bridgetown, Barbados was go to Harrison's cave which is one of Barbados' greatest wonders. The outside of the cave was covered in very attractive and colourful flowers and plants. In the cave, I was able to take a tram tour, which is moving cart and a walking tour. The tram tour took me around all over the cave while the walking tour brought me to the waters of the cave. They were both really fun and I enjoyed them both. The inside of the cave looked like it was melting and looked like there was icicles made of rock coming out of it. It was so unique and spectacular. Also, the driver and tour guide were very kind and made the tour even better.

After touring the Harrison's Cave I decided to walk around the streets of Bridgetown. I walked through Broad Street, Bridgetown's main street and found multiple duty free shops and stores selling souvenirs and interesting pieces. There was also art galleries, cafes, restaurants, and banks. During my walk I saw the Parliament as well. My walk around Bridgetown was quite relaxing and it enables me to get some really great photos of the city.

My third day in Barbados was spent entirely on the beach and in the water. Early in the morning I went on an underwater submarine tour. It was so amazing being able to see sea creatures in their natural habitat. I was able to see exotic fish, turtles, sharks, and sea plants. The submarine was actually very comfortable. There was air condition and the seats were comfy. The seats were also placed facing the windows which was great. At the end of the tour I was able to meet the pilot. He was really nice and friendly.

When the submarine tour ended I went to a sea food restaurant. Then I spent the rest of my day on Accra Beach. Just like the other beaches I visited, the sand was soft and white, while the water was perfectly warm and had a beautiful turquoise hue. Besides getting my tan on and relaxing, I also went snorkeling, kayaking, and scuba diving. It was such an adventurous and fun experience.

Bridgetown, Barbados Day 1

The third place I went to during my trip around the world was Bridgetown, Barbados. I really wanted to go here because of the lovely beaches I have seen in pictures. To arrive here I had to take an 8 hrs 15 min plane ride from Panama City to Bridgetown. There was a 1hr and 25 min stop in order for me to get to my destination. The cost of my flight was $609. During my vacation in Bridgetown I stayed in a three star resort called Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados. This resort was rated number one out of all the hotels in Bridgetown, Barbados. This resort was a beachfront hotel that included free breakfast, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness room, and free internet. The price per night for the resort was $162.

On day 1 I wanted to explore the city and island I was in, so I decided to go on a tour. The tour I took was called the Adventure Safari Tour and it took me all over the island, from eastern to northeastern Barbados. The tour was 5 hrs 30 min long and the vehicle I as on was a 4x4. Some of the stops on the tour included Bathsheba and Joe's River Forest. Bathsheba is Saint Joseph's main fishing village. The water looked so pretty but it was too dangerous to swim in. Joe's River Forest was made up of hills, gullies, woodlands, and especially mahogany trees. In the forest, I was able to walk through the paths, climb rocks, and take a closer look at nature. The Adventure Tour also included a lunch buffet, that was very filling and served traditional Barbadian food, like flying fish and conkies. The tour was very informative and it took me to great places in Barbados.

Then after the 5 hr Adventure Safari Tour I took a rest in my resort then later headed to a beach extravaganza called Harbour Lights. Here I met some really friendly people and watched some really great performances. The extravaganza was a night celebration that included a live DJ, fireworks, tons of food, and a night full of dancing. It was very exciting!
